Personally I Would Never Do That was a solo exhibition in Southblock Gallery in Glasgow from 3rd - 29th March. The exhibition showcased work made in the period of 2020-22, taking a sensitive and playful approach to exploring the space between fixed states of being. The exhibition also featured a movement workshop in response to the artwork by multidisciplinary artist Ashanti Harris.

‘Time plays an exquisite factor in Dalton’s assembly of lockdown lodestones. In her work, Time is a character – a traceable and conscious presence, yet the nature of its influence is left enthrallingly ambiguous. Dalton’s works show Time as kind, constant, yet equally cruel and callous. Its existence within the very fabric of each piece becomes a fascinating inevitability.

“Personally…” is a beautiful rendering of process becoming prose. The quiet lyricism of her developing, alliterative sculpture work is particularly arresting.’ - Art in Eighty
