unfired porcelain sentences, 2021

In the development of work which led to flare, a series of sentences from unfired porcelain were placed around the city. These ‘gentle interventions’ into public space were intended to engage people going about their days. Created and installed at the cusp of society ‘re-opening’ they were designed to accompany collective emerging while acknowledging how fragile that emerging was and continues to be. Because the pieces are unfired, they crumble and wash away with the rain, leaving no trace.

your connection is unstable (postcards for PF)

October - December 2020

Working with feelings of loneliness and disconnect, this postal project sought ways of connecting with people without relying on virtual means.

Relying entirely on memory to draw participants in continuous line without looking at the page, the artist also included a memory or an imagined encounter with that person on the reverse.

This piece helped to raise over £500 for PF Counselling.
